We prioritize safety and use organic products where possible, while also utilizing premium weed control products that are both effective and safe for your family and pets. Our comprehensive 6-step program is designed to deliver a healthy, lush, and weed-free lawn in just one season. With our expert care and premium products, you can enjoy a beautiful lawn without any hassle.

Premium-Organic Based Fertilizers

The foundation of our program is our use of premium-organic based fertilizers. We have developed these over many years and they provide our Northern Virginia lawns the perfect amount of nutrients needed to make the grass lush, green and healthy. Our organic-based fertilizers release over 10-12 weeks, providing your lawn a consistent release of organic nutrients which means a darker green color and healthier appearance. In addition, our organic-based fertilizers help to improve the soil profile over time by adding carbon to the soil. This stimulates soil biology and improve your soil health.

Safe & Effective Weed Control

All weed control products we use have been hand-selected to be safe for kids and pets. We are prepared to apply as much or as little as your individual lawn needs. Our goal is to apply as little as possible, however new clients will likely need a more "intensive" program to begin with. Read more about how our products are kid and pet safe here.

Simply Turf's Fertilization & Weed Control Program

1. Early Spring Fertilizer & Pre-Emergent

We will apply REVIVE premium organic-based fertilizer with pre-emergent to your lawn. This fertilizer provides natural, slow-release nutrients that feed your lawn gradually providing excellent color. The pre-emergent will help to protect your lawn from Summer weeds. Any weeds present will be treated as well.

2. Late Spring Fertilizer & Pre-Emergent

We will apply a second application of REVIVE premium organic-based fertilizer with pre-emergent to your lawn. The second application of pre-emergent will extend the weed control, protecting your lawn from difficult to control Summer weeds. Any weeds present will be treated as well.

3. Summer Grub Control

We will apply RECOVER premium organic-based fertilizer with grub control to protect your lawn from grubs and feeding insects that will damage your lawn. This application contains potash which will help to improve your lawn's response to summer heat, stress and drought. Any weeds present will be treated as well, including nutsedge.

4. Summer Soil Amendment

We will make an application of RECOVER, slow-release fertilizer to help your lawn recover from summer stress. Any weeds present will be treated as well, including Nutsedge.

5. Fall Fertilizer

We will apply RENEW premium organic-based balanced fertilizer to your lawn. This balanced fertilizer will provide your lawn a deep green color and contains Phosphorous which will help with the establishment of new grass seed. Any weeds present will be treated as well.

6. Winter Fertilizer

We will apply REVIVE premium organic-based fertilizer to your lawn. This fertilizer is formulated to protect your lawn through the Winter months and to provide an early Spring green-up. Any weeds present will be treated as well.

7. Limestone (Optional)

Depending upon your lawn's individual needs, we will make a maintenance application of enhanced efficiency calcitic lime to neutralize the acidity of the soil. This application is completed in January/February and is recommended for established lawns.

Turf Care Program FAQ's

Do you notify us in advance of service?

Yes. We notify you the week before your service is scheduled by email. The day prior to service you will receive an email letting you know your service has been dispatched for the next day.

How do we pay for service?

We accept all forms of payment including card and check. A card on file or prepayment by check is required to begin service. For card on file, it is pay-as-you-go and you will only be charged once a service has been completed.

How long until we see results?

You will see results soon after the first treatment. Depending upon the condition of your lawn, it can take up to a full season to have a healthy, green and weed-free lawn.

Are your products safe for kids & pets?

Yes! All of our products have been hand selected for their safety for kids and pets. Read more about this under the "Kid & Pet Safe" tab.

How soon after can we be on the lawn?

You will receive an email immediately service has been completed to let you know when the products were applied. Please stay off the lawn areas for 2 hours after to allow products to dry.

How do I know the program is right for my lawn?

Our program has been developed for Northern Virginia lawns. Our program is custom to your individual lawn as it includes soil testing and corrective soil applications. If there is anything outside the scope of our program that your lawn needs, we will notify you and discuss the options.
