Improve Your Lawn Quickly With Compost Topdressing

Regular lawn care activities like fertilizing and mowing gradually enrich the soil with organic material. However, this natural accumulation can be a slow process. Our approach accelerates this significantly by directly amending the soil with high-quality compost. This is particularly crucial for lawns in new construction areas, where soil quality often needs a substantial boost. By integrating compost, we rapidly improve the soil's health and fertility, laying the foundation for a lush, vibrant lawn in a fraction of the time.

It's All About the Soil

Our compost topdressing service is designed to significantly enrich your soil with vital organic matter, enhancing its structure and fertility. This specialized treatment transforms the soil into a lighter, more aerated base, creating the perfect conditions for strong plant growth. The organic matter breaks down slowly, ensuring a continuous release of nutrients that nourish your lawn much longer than ordinary fertilizers. This creates a sustainable feeding cycle for your grass. Moreover, lawns with high organic content are more resilient, showing greater resistance to diseases, drought, and insects.

Adding Carbon to the Soil is Key

We use organic-based fertilizers and offer compost topdressing because both services add carbon to the soil. By infusing carbon into the soil, we create an optimal environment for vital soil microbes and mycorrhizae, which are key to enhancing the overall health and visual appeal of your lawn.

Aeration & Overseeding FAQ's

Do I need to mark sprinkler heads?

We ask that you mark sprinkler heads and underground dog fences so we can avoid damaging them when we aerate. We notify you which day you are scheduled to give you enough time to mark your system.

How often should I water new seed?

New seed needs to be constantly moist. You will need to water 2-3 times per day for a few minutes until seed has germinated, which typically takes 7-10 days. We will provide you with detailed watering instructions.

Can aeration & overseeding be performed in the Spring?

We will be happy to provide the service for you in the spring, however it is recommended that you wait until the fall. The seed that germinates in the spring has very little time to develop a root system that can compete with our hot, dry summer months.

How do we pay for service?

We accept all forms of payment including card and check. A card on file or prepayment by check is required to begin service. For card on file, it is pay-as-you-go and you will only be charged once a service has been completed.

Do you recommend aerating and overseeding every year?

We do, however overseeding your lawn is more important and can be done without aeration if you are looking to save. Our grass type does not spread, so the only way to fill in bare spots and increase density of lawn is to overseed every fall.

What type of seed do you use?

We use blue-tag certified seed that is chosen for it's dark green color, disease and drought resistance. We use the best seed that we can possibly buy!
