Aeration and overseeding your lawn is one of the most beneficial things that you can do. This service is performed in September and October.
For the mechanical core aeration, we use a machine to remove 2-3" "plugs" of soil from your lawn. By removing these plugs, it creates a void in your soil to allow air, nutrients, and water to penetrate more deeply into the soil profile. This is important because as the resources are allowed to penetrate more deeply, so will your lawn's root system. A deeper, denser root system for your lawn means that your lawn will have a greater ability to withstand heat, drought and other environmental stresses throughout the year.
Overseeding is done at the same time as the core aeration. The overseeding helps to fill in any bare or thin areas in your lawn with new improved cultivars of seed.
We only utilize the highest quality, blue-tag certified seed. The A-List cultivars of grass seed we use are selected through university trials for their dark green color, disease and drought resistance. Blue-Tag seed is certified to be free of weed seeds.
We ask that you mark sprinkler heads and underground dog fences so we can avoid damaging them when we aerate. We notify you which day you are scheduled to give you enough time to mark your system.
New seed needs to be constantly moist. You will need to water 2-3 times per day for a few minutes until seed has germinated, which typically takes 7-10 days. We will provide you with detailed watering instructions.
We will be happy to provide the service for you in the spring, however it is recommended that you wait until the fall. The seed that germinates in the spring has very little time to develop a root system that can compete with our hot, dry summer months.
We accept all forms of payment including card and check. A card on file or prepayment by check is required to begin service. For card on file, it is pay-as-you-go and you will only be charged once a service has been completed.
We do, however overseeding your lawn is more important and can be done without aeration if you are looking to save. Our grass type does not spread, so the only way to fill in bare spots and increase density of lawn is to overseed every fall.
We use blue-tag certified seed that is chosen for it's dark green color, disease and drought resistance. We use the best seed that we can possibly buy!
We take pride in our work, and if for any reason you're not 100% happy, we won't rest until the issue is resolved. If you're still not completely satisfied after our best efforts, we'll refund your most recent fertilization and weed control service. We stand behind our work and believe that you'll love what we do.
