Tall fescue does its real growing in cool soil and spends July and August surviving. Your program follows that clock, and fall matters more than spring.
We aerate, overseed and give the heaviest feeding of the year while the soil is still warm and the air is cooling off. Seed planted in fall gets two cool seasons to root before its first July.

No. Simply Turf is pay as you go, with no annual agreement and no cancellation fee, and you can start with a single visit. Most customers stay on the full season program because timing is what makes the results stick.
Late August through October, with mid-September to mid-October the best stretch. The soil is still warm for fast germination while the air cools, so seedlings root before winter. Spring seeding usually fails here because young fescue can't survive its first summer. There's more in when to aerate and overseed.
Color usually improves within one to two weeks of the first feeding, and broadleaf weeds die back over one to three weeks. Real density takes a full season, and fall aeration and overseeding speed that up.
Yes. We hold a Virginia pesticide business license (#14809), owner Patrick Klippen is a VDACS certified applicator (#141054), and we carry general liability insurance and will send a certificate of insurance on request.
Keep kids and pets off the lawn until it's dry, usually about two hours. Every pesticide we use is EPA registered and applied at its label rate by a Virginia certified applicator, and our fertilizers are organic based and slow release. No. We do turf health only, which means fertilization, weed control, aeration and overseeding, compost topdressing, and mosquito and tick control. If you need a mowing company, we're happy to point you to a neighbor who does it well.

I can't say enough good things about this company. Two seasons ago, our lawn was a disaster - just a mass of clover, creeping weeds and dandelions - not a single blade of grass. After Simply Turf started treating our front and back lawns, we started to see immediate improvement. I'm happy to say that after only two seasons (we're starting our third), our lawns are plush and deep green! Probably the nicest on our street. I highly recommend Simply Turf. I had the aeration and over seeding today, and it was the best aeration I have ever received, and I have had many other companies do it over the years. They actually spent the time to make sure they hit all areas. The technician first walked yard and pre-seeded spots before aeration and they even left a small bag of seed for spots down the road. Excellent service, I was truly impressed with the tech and the service I received.

Our lawn was heavily infested with Bermuda grass and other weeds. We contacted a company one of our neighbors uses and they felt our lawn was beyond help and that we would have to sod which would run $10k+. As a last effort we had Simply Turf come out and take a look and they felt it was worth a shot to try and save our lawn. We've had 3 treatments thus far and the improvement is incredible. I'm actually excited to see how it looks next year after they aerate and seed!

I've used many lawn services over the years, but Simply Turf is simply the BEST. He treats about an acre of my property which was mostly weeds when he started, but after just one season it's showing some pretty great results. I especially love his notification system. He keeps you up to date on exactly when his team is coming to treat and then notifies you when it's safe to let your pets back on the lawn. He took extra time and care not to use the big machine that would tear up a wet lawn and put down a bit of extra seed to make sure the seed took late in the season.
